From the isolated score on the "Alien" 20th Anniversary DVD,
1. Cue heard when Lambert and Parker take it for the team
2. Cue heard when Ripley blows the alien out into space in the film's climax
Anything with a big heavy beat, like "The Klingon Battle" from Star Trek: TMP or "The Storm" from Bram Stoker's Dracula. "Barry's Abduction" from Close Encounters gives me the shivers too. |

I don't understand these three. Nothing in those tracks sound "intense" to me. |
Well, maybe this isn´t the kind of intensity you´re talking about.I think these are scores are very appropiate for the scenes and these scenes are important in these movies, so I thought it would serve. Of course if we are talking of action, or intrigue scenes or something like that, you´re rigth.
The problem is that in spanish, "intense" has a lot of meanings, and my english isn´t very good... _________________ Fear is the mind killer |

Film music from Eleni Karaindrou are very intens. Pitty that there is no album from her in the requestlist. Soundtrack from Ulysses'Gaze, Eternity and a day are one of the greatest soundtracks ever. |

I'm going to be lazy here and not list all the specifics.... but these scores are intense in many places.... take your pick....
Leon: The Professional -- High Noon, and, We're Checking Out
Excalibur -- Opening Sequence under the Stars, and, Excalibur's rise from the Lake
John Carpenter's The Thing -- Ending Sequence and End Titles
Journey To The Center Of The Earth -- Rising out of the Mountain-Volcano Style

Ahaa, greatness!
Good call Rhubarb.
I would also add one of my favorites,
Star Trek II The Wrath of Kahn;
Battle in the Mutara Nebula
Horner's use of french horn has always blown me away. |
