The Piano soundtrack My mom played this a lot when I was younger and it grew on me
Also, one of the tracks from BSG season 2 (episode #3 three I believe). It's the piece Starbuck and Helo listen to in Starbuck's apartment. It has been composed by hear dead, but composed and played by Bear McCreary in real life |

Good Bye Lenin by Yann Tiersen has some lovely piano themes. I particularly like childhood. |

Pride and Prejudice (which I finally watched the other day) has a good deal of very nice piano music. That gets added to my favorites. _________________ "Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens, makes her a home."

On SST we have a wonderful ST called 10 Easy Pieces For Piano. There are some wonderful tracks on there. |
I'm particularly fond of the first track entitled "A Good Morning Melody" - great piece. _________________ "Asteroids do not concern me, Admiral" - Darth Vader, ESB |

Unfaithful (Piano Variation) from the film of the same name. Score by Jan A. P. Kaczmarek. Beautiful. _________________ "After dark all cats are leopards." - Native American Proverb |

No one (except Camillu) has mentioned Horner's The Rocketeer.
OK, you don't normally think of it as a piano score...
But the Main Title starts with a very lovely melody played on the piano, and the theme is then taken up by the strings and brass. Wonderful!

Speaking of Horner...
I forgot about Sneakers.
Tremendous performance by Branford Marsalis! |

Hear, Hear, Luther! Couldn't agree with you more. That score always puts a smile on my face.
Actually Camillu does mention The Rocketeer: "Very true - the piano intro is wonderful. I only left it out becuase after the first few seconds there's no more piano. It's the same reason why I left out the wonderful piano intro to The Rocketeer (also by Horner)." |

Since this post was brought up again...
I have really been into an up and coming composer named Ryo Kunihiko.
Some of the piano tracks I really like are:
Silhouette of a Breeze (Piano solo) - Victorian Romance Emma
Yasou Tsuki no Shizuku (The Twelve Kingdoms, anime), Piano Memories - Any and all tracks
I wish I could provide samples but there aren't any on the net and we don't have the soundtracks here. Sorry! _________________ Pixie "Actually Tree, I wasn't referring to you as a dingus, but seems like you might just qualify as one now!" |
