The original thread is out of whack, so I'm starting this continuation thread and locking the other one. The original start to the thread (Posted: 17 Jun 2003 11:28, with 168 posts and 6450 views):

Well along with the Question topic, I thought I'd add one...
What was the first soundtrack you owned? What one got you hooked?
Me? - well I'd have to say I started with musicals, but Disney soundtracks probaby started it.

My first soundrtrack was also a musical (who could have guessed ) and it was the swedish version of The Phantom of the Opera (maybe we shouldnt even call it a soundtrack if I think more of it, anyway,, never mind) Also the Lion King was soon enough in my collection of cd's
I also bought City of Angels ST direct after watching the movie! _________________ ^i^ Come fly with me |

I had the original Star Wars on LP, and would sometimes play it to fall asleep by. (No negative comment is meant on the music. It was just comforting. And I was ten or so.)
The Star Wars movies were really my first scores. I heard the local pops orchestra play the music one night, and I was amazed that real people, with real instruments, made the same sound that came out of the movies. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

I think my first soundtrack CD had to be Gladiator. It was the first film I ever saw in the cinema. |

This is the first Soundtrack to a Movie that I remember purchasing. It was Thunderball. Amazingly enough it was purchased at a 7-11, back in the day.
And, this was the first TV Soundtrack LP that I ever purchased: The Official Hawaii Five-O :
The first "soundtrack" that I purchased sheet music of, was for the original TV Series "Mission Impossible". Fledgling coronet player that I was, I still thought that the MI theme was one the coolest on Television. (Sadly, after High School, I never picked up the coronet again ---- it takes a lot of work to kee those chops up.....)

First soudtrack was "Terminator 2" which I bought back in 1992. It was also my very fisrt CD. I bought it just because i was a huge fan of schwarzenegger. But it wasn't until I bought "Conan The Barbarian" in 1993 when it hit a spark.
I now own over 400 original soundtracks from different composers. |

my first soundtrack was Star Wars on a cassette - absolutely loved John Williams' music - tried to get Battlestar Galactica on LP but could never find it or afford it. _________________ 'It was irritating to me that I should need money. I shouldn't need it.' Ed, The January Man |

Jurassic Park was probably one of my first. That theme is just very recognizable, and I really liked that, so I'd say that's what started my cd soundtrack purchases. |

My first was Ghostbusters on vinyl record. I didn't really appreciate it back then, but I listened to it a lot (and the cover art was awesome) |

Like Ruka, my first was Jurassic Park by John Williams. I loved the film as a kid and the music was always stuck in my head ...
One day I finally bought the soundtrack, and the rest is history |

The first soundtrack I bought was 'Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring'. (The 'normal' version.)
I liked it very much so the years after I also bought the other two LotR soundtracks. _________________ The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on Flying: The knack of throwing yourself at the ground and miss.
