|
Why would the board deny playing a track just because another track by the same aritst is in queue ? ? ?
But I got just that message Request Denied --- "Artist already in queue to be Played."
I don't get this..... a prolific composer can have many movies they've contibuted to...
I thought the only restriction was if a particular track had been played recently....not by composer !!
Even if there was a unususal restriction in playing the same artist (Composer).... the queue does not list the artist/composer in the queue.
Explain this to me (please) ... |

Laws do not allow to play the same artist or album within a certain time limit. |

But, amazingly.... the same song can be played during the hour, several times, as long as it's from a different artist
How refreshing ! !
(I heard Barbers Adagio For Strings 3 times within an hour -- but each time ba different "artist"....)
What the rules are so fastidiously trying to prevent.... sameness of any sort... is still happening anyway.

Why do you assume the rules are trying to prevent "sameness of any sort"? I don't believe that is the intent of the rules at all. You can find discussion of this elsewhere if you're interested. Just search the forums for "new RIAA rules".

Oh, OK, sorry to be such a pain about this, but I did read through the FAQ's first, and I didn't see this spelled out there, so I was in ignorance (being new to the site) of these RIAA restrictions....
For any other Newbies that need more data, here's the RIAA link to their FAQ's about Webcasting and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act:

Bad newbie. Now go sit over there and think about what you have done. |

There is plenty of info in our forums. But for any of the rest of you, don't ever link 'that site' _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Agreed ! ! In fact, I will never refer to the RIAA again.... I will simply refer to "those guys".... from now on. _________________ Emergency Command Override 100375 ---- "READY WHEN YOU ARE SGT. PEMBRY ...." |

*points* Soundtrack got told off......
I didn't like it at first....but now I really like the fact that no artist can be played again within the hour. I remember before we would get a run of 5 williams tracks in a row. I am a fan of Williams....but it's great that we are "forced" to listen to lots of different music now. It makes for a much more interesting listen, and I have found some new nuggets of ST's that hardly ever used to be played.
