Hi
I have searched using keywords like 'post', 'image' and 'photo' but couldn't find anythng related to my question here.
I know that j2 has posted helpful instructions about posting images from the internet in the "Faces behind the Post" Community forum topic but I am still confused about how to post an image from my own computer and whether this is actually possible.
I have noticed that in some posts the pictures cannot be seen and this has just happened to me in a recent post. I'm not sure what is affecting the link but I would have thought that copying an image from my computer or linking to an image on my computer would be more stable. Is this a fair assumption?
What I would really like to do is create a montage like vader_76 did here, though not as a link but directly into the forum post.
I only want to use 5 or 6 pictures, but I fear that if I insert 5 or 6 links, any one of them may not work which would ruin the effect of the post.
Basically I would like to get a bit more creative in my posts but need some advise on posting images.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Snowy,
You can't link a picture (or any file) directly from your computer to SST. You need to post these images somewhere on the web.
What you can do is create an account on a free web hosting site, such as http://photobucket.com/ (don't know it myself, but remarked that some ppl here at SST use it!), then upload your photos on it.
Last (easy) step is to create a link to it in your post:
- either as an image
Code: |
|
Example:
- or as a link
Code: |
My link |
Example: Bigger image
- you can also create a clickable picture
Code: |
|
Example
Hint: by clicking the Quote button, you'll see the original text of this post and thus all the codes used.
Hope this helps! _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner
