I am an English teacher at a university in China and also run LA Productions, in which I "have various projects in various stages of completion" (read: I like to dabble in movie stuff but haven't done anything in the area recently)
I find it fascinating how many of the people on this music site are into music themselves, or math, or engineering, or computer coding, or some other structural field... Hm, what am I doing here?! Oh, wait, I really like math, too! (Just not for a 9-to-5 job!) _________________ "You're an interesting species, an interesting mix. What? I am supposed to be doing something?! Well I suppose I work with payloads and such, mostly testing them until they die. So on a daily basis I could be doing anything from designing payloads to testing them in a thermal vacuum chamber.
So all in all I am a Payload Test Engineer _________________ "That's nice, but how does it all relate to Newtons Laws?"

I am what is called a Senior Serials Receiver. When journals, magazines and newspapers come in the mail, I'm the one to put it on the computer that it's been received, write the call number for it, and give it to the serials shelver to put it on the shelf. I also do the most of the filing of the loose leaf updates we receive. With over a million titles here, it keeps me busy.
Not as exciting as what some of you do, but I have no real complaints. Except I wish it paid more!
Oh and I live with my cat, Madison, who's picture you can see in my avatar. She's a sweetie. _________________ It's hard to soar with dragons when you work with gargoyles!

It's an art school, sorta. You don't graduate and don't get any diplomas or anything.
I'm gonna take classes for 3 months and hope it will make me a better artist, yup! _________________ Our umbrellas are colliding and I can't walk straightly.

I'm a video game designer for Buzz Monkey Software. Since beginning here at Buzz, I have worked on two shipped products in Bobsleigh (free online game) and Tomb Raider: Legend for the PSP. My third shipped title will go gold in about a month (still can't say which title ).
By the way, i got a BS in Physical Anthropology (Archaeology) at OSU and I used the GIS software that J2 worked on lol! |

Well I think it is time for this to be bumped to the top again. I am sure with the economy that some people may have moved around and those who haven't contributed yet have their opportunity to post now
I am always curious to hear what people do for a living!
Currently I am dabbling in Customer Service/Sales with a State Farm Agent, still in the probationary period so we shall see if it turns out to be a good fit.
So, what do you do???? _________________ "My Logic is Undeniable" - I, Robot |

Nice bump up Nate: well a new entry then.
My profession is being a freelance driver.
In that function I also do facilitary work for co-operating collegues who do the same like me.
Our collaboration provides customers with on demand project- or interim drivers on all kind of jobs (even film).
It's a fun job where I can travel a lot and work in all kind of sectors PLUS on the long drives I am able to listen to moviescores.
Now doesn't that sounds to be a good work: being payed to listen to moviescores. _________________

I used to be an assistant professor/lecturer in media studies at the University of Oslo up untill 2007, but then I switched careers and starting working as a casting agent in television (Norwegian shows that I'm not sure you have heard of).
Now I'm kinda on hold due to various health issues, but I'm looking into becoming a college teacher now (I just need to take some classes in pedagogy once my health picks up). |

My work is mostly related to high performance computing, since I work with climate models. So, I'm a computer programmer as well.
