|
SAM 2.0 is up and running! For those of you who don't know what SAM is, it is the software that drives the requests, playlist, queue, played, and encoding and statistics of the streams. Sensei and I have been busting our tail to get this working and there is still a lot more work to to do. Requests will be down for a while but submit other bug reports here. Thanks for your patience! _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I know the question has been asked, but can we have back the request list by album instead of by ST ? It takes such a long time, I don't bother looking for tracks I never heard anymore. _________________ My reality cheque bounced |

I am missing the album in winamp.
It only shows <artist> - <trackname> (streamingsoundtracks.com) |

Thanks, Cal. Jeric's working on that one.
Caray, that's on the list as well. |

during heavy traffic, the top part of the site spits out some db connection errors:
Warning: Too many connections in /home/streamin/public_html/modules/SAM/common/db.php on line 43
Thought you'd wanna know in case you didn't see for yourself...

I agree with Caray. Glad to know "it's on the list". |

I've noticed that SAM2 sometimes has problems handling the tags of some of the album cover art. If you notice an album playing with no cover art please post it in here so I can fix it.

I'm wondering because I don't request much...
Does making a request before the specified time period penalize you by having to wait the full amount of time again?
Has anyone noticed song do not get skipped anymore? _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I tried the requesting again before my 60 minute wait was up, and I didn't have to wait 60 more minutes, so that seems to be fixed now. Great! |

JERIC,
Can't say enough about the wonderful improvements you've made to SST. Thank you!
Knowing you are still working tirelessly on further improvements, you may already be planning to address the following issues:
I use an anonymizer to access SST at work and have had problems with the request feature. When I try to browse by album I get the error message: "You can't access this file directly." The only way I can request a track is by using the search feature, but then I have to know exactly what I want to request, no more browsing. I didn't have this problem before when using Anonymizer.
When I try to use a web translator, I usually can't log in because the security codes do not show up, so I don't know whether I get the same problem as above.
Finally, are you planning to bring back the original browse by album feature? Having to scroll through miles and miles of tracks to get to the album you want is tedious.
Thanks for looking into these issues.

|
I'm attempting to select a song, and the system tells me it was recently played. Yet, I don't see the song in the "Recently Played" list. Could this be a bug, or am I missing information somewhere that tells me how often a song can be requested (i.e. every three hours, even if it's not in the list)?
Neat service...seems to be running smoothly...the 96K channel isn't bad when listening in headphones with a 15 to 25,000 frequency range... |

Try listening to the stream with the MP3Pro codec installed.
"Song Recently Played" means the song was requested in the past hour. When this happens, just go ahead and request something else. |

I'm on crack, Gecko's right. Yes 24 hours. A song can only be requested once every 24 hours.

Thanks for the info. As far as the codec, I can't use it as I am on Winamp 3. The player I downloaded doesn't work, and I can't get it to recognize the file format. But with Winamp 3, it's a stable stream, and it does sound good.
BTW, thanks for the clarification on the song selection. I'll keep that in mind. |
