I suggest reading my FAQ over in the FAQ section.
Go click on "Shoutcast" over to the left and you can see how many people are on each type of stream. |

if you are on a less than great internet connection the 32k is the only connection that will not buffer too much.

And... About high connection... Why did the link "128k coming soon" disappear???
Is that a good thing? (coming NOW)
Or a bad thing? (NEVER come) |

It will probaly never come back. The quality with 96k with mp3pro codec is about the same as the old 128k. |

There's no need for 128k when you're running the MP3Pro codec now. Or when we start an Ogg stream. |

MP3Pro is backwards compatible with MP3.
So if you play the stream on a player that can't read MP3Pro, you'll just hear a normal MP3 signal.
The problem is a 96k MP3Pro stream sounds as good as a CD while a normal 96k MP3 stream... well, doesn't.
Ogg is an entirely different broadcasting format. When streamed it's called IceCastv2, just as MP3Pro/Mp3 when streamed is called ShoutCast.
Some people argue that Ogg sounds better. We want to try it, but have heard that IceCastv2 isn't very stable. Especially when you use request systems and queues with it. |

Talking about the 32K streams, are they 32K any more? My modem can't keep up with them now, I still get the same speed with everything else. And the player claims 52K.
Apologies if I've missed an announcement about this somewhere. |
