My goal is to change the world starting with myself.
—Mary Mackenzie
Inspiring Social Change
People ask me all the time how they can change a situation. Activists who work for peace and social change want the answer. Many of us are looking for the big over-arching answers. We want the quick fix. If you want social change, act in harmony with the values toward which you are working.
“Be the change you seek,” as Gandhi put it. If you want peace, work toward peace; don’t rally against war. Don’t spend your days working for peace while harboring enemy images of people who support different causes than yours; don’t go home and spank your child or yell at your partner. Be peace. Living from your values does not mean that you are perfect. When you act in ways that aren’t in harmony with your values, own up to it and try to do it differently next time. Set a course that is in alignment with your values and do your very best to stay headed in that direction. This is social change.
For today, make a conscious effort to be that which you want in your world. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

There comes a point in your life when you realize
who matters,
who never did,
who won't anymore...
and who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
'Be kinder than necessary
because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.'
A sharp tongue can cut my own throat.
If I want my dreams to come true, I mustn't oversleep.
Of all the things I wear, my expression is the most important.
The best vitamin for making friends..... B1.
The happiness of my life depends on the quality of my thoughts.
The heaviest thing I can carry is a grudge.
One thing I can give and still keep...is my word.
I lie the loudest when I lie to myself.
If I lack the courage to start, I have already finished.
One thing I can't recycle is wasted time.
Ideas won't work unless ' I ' do.
My mind is like a parachute...it functions only when open.
The 10 commandments are not a multiple choice.
The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime! It is never too late to become what I might have been.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.. Forget about the one's who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

Walking Big
walking with loud giant steps while he can because he's already noticed that when you grow up, even if you do keep walking as big as you can, you have to be quiet about it, or other people get headaches _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. This is advice I guess more than a quote. Or at least words of wisdom.
AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
1. Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold the vegetable while you chop.
2. Avoid arguments with females about the lifting of the toilet seat by using the sink.
3. For high blood pressure suffers, simply cut yourself and bleed fro a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure on your veins. Remember to use a timer, however.
4. A mouse tap laced on top of your alarm clock will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
5. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives. Then your will be afraid to cough!
6. You only need two tools in life, WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape!
7. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
DAILY THOUGHT:
Some people are like Slinkies-Not really good for anything, but the bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

Cleaning Poem
I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'
He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work..
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into.
I was into it all night.<<Sigh>>
Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

LIFE THOUGHTS BY DUCKY
Marriage changes passion. Suddenly you're in bed with a relative.
I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with 'Guess' on it. So I said 'Implants?' She hit me.
How come we choose from just two people to run for president and over fifty for Miss America ?
Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.
I signed up for an exercise class and was told to wear loose fitting clothing. If I HAD any loose fitting clothing, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life we could simply press 'Ctrl Alt Delete' and start all over?
Wouldn't you know it....
Brain cells come and brain cells go, but FAT cells live forever. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

From my sister....
Thoughts From a Wandering Mind
I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.
~~~
I had amnesia once -- or twice.
~~~
I went to San Francisco. I found someone's heart. Now what?
~~~
Protons have mass? I didn't even know they were Catholic.
~~~
All I ask is a chance to prove that money can't make me happy.
~~~
If the world were a logical place, men would be the ones who ride side saddle.
~~~
What is a 'free' gift? Aren't all gifts free?
~~~
Someone told me I was gullible and I believed them..
~~~
Teach a child to be polite and courteous and, when he grows up, he'll never be able to merge his car onto the freeway.
~~~
Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone.
~~~
One nice thing about egotists: they don't talk about other people.
~~~
My weight is perfect for my height -- which varies.
~~~
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
~~~
The high cost of living hasn't affected its popularity.
~~~
How can there be self-help 'groups'?
~~~
If swimming is so good for your figure, how do you explain whales?
~~~
Show me a man with both feet firmly on the ground, and I'll show you a man who can't get his pants off.
~~~
Is it just me--or do buffalo wings really taste like chicken? _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |
Epiphany
She saw herself reflected in the store window, then the sun changed, she disappeared & all she could see was her eyes. she remembered thinking, I make a very nice floor lamp & that was the day she decided to quit her job.
Good Excuses
I don't have a whole lot of excuses for what's gone wrong with my life, she said, But the ones I do have are really good...
Discovered the Moon
When I first discovered the moon, he said, I gave it a different name. But everyone kept calling it the moon. The real name never caught on. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |
I have long been of the opinion that if work were such a splendid thing the rich would have kept more of it for themselves.
It is world service.
I feel very strong about doing all we can to help out our world. I know I know sounds corny, but it is often so easy.
Here is a web site I go to daily, well almost daily, and just click 10 times. Takes me about 3-5 minutes depending on how slow the browser is going.
You will not get spammed, you do not have to buy anything. You can donate if you wish. It works for folks in the USA, as well as Japan and Germany. We are all in this together. Some effect the population in US more so don't click on those if you don't care, but it does effect us all some how.
Ok stepping off soap box. My plea is just do it.
http://www.care2.com/click2donate/
That is from my page. So it shows up as me Ms C. log out and go in as you.
It is just something easy to do and helps.
thanks tons
Today's Mental Checklist
1. Things I know for sure - quite a few
2. Things I don't know for sure - quite a few more
3. Things I'll discover I don't know as I go along (only a rough estimate) - about as much as things I currently don't know
4. Things I tell my children that I don't believe myself - lots, but now they're older I tell them I'm making it up & they can believe it at their own risk
5. Things that make sense if you stop to think about it
a. in daylight - lot unless there's media or government involved
b. late at night - almost nothing, so it's better to just go back to sleep
6. Things I believe that people a thousand years ago believed, too - quite a few but I lived in L.A. when I was younger, so I have a good excuse _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |
It's hardest to love the ordinary things, she said, but you get lots of opportunities to practice. _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |
