It's now Monday 2PM... 39 hours since John Williams' last encore and I'm still not down off my SST gathering high. What a fantastic time we had!!
As ppl return home and catch up on some much needed sleep, I'm sure we'll all start posting the stories & photos.
I'm still in LA, down in Orange County, and unfortunately have no way of transferring any of my pictures from camera to server till I get home on Thursday.
I think BQ & JERIC will be setting up a Gallery Album, and after that, there should be tons of fun, beautiful, hilarious (and even incriminating) photos posted.
Briefly this is how the weekend went:
-Everyone arrived by Friday afternoon.
-Fabulous Brazilian dinner at 7PM - we carpooled and made it in good time thanks to everyone's GPS systems, of which there were plenty.
-Afterwards we all met up in JERIC & BQ's hotel suite - laughed & drank & talked, talked, talked till wee hours.
-Saturday everyone went their own way and did their own thing as far as sightseeing & grocery/souvenir shopping went.
-For the pre-concert PICNIC most ppl walked the 3/4 mile to the beautiful parklike Hollywood Bowl picnic area at the corner of Highland & Camrose. Socr & Xan really outdid themselves arranging for a large area with many tables, and brought tablecloths. It was shaded, beautifully landscaped with shrubs & flowers. The Hollywood Bowl picnic area staff was wonderful! They had roped off our area and made sure everyone found the spot.
We did it potluck style and had TONS of food & drinks!!! It was sooooo much fun!!! So much food left over, which we took back to JERIC & BQ's after the concert. And on Sunday there was still food left over, which I heard they gave to a homeless person outside the hotel.
-The concert was phenomenal! We had great seats (thank you, Socr!!) and the weather could not have been more perfect. The program was wonderful (see playlist below).
-After the concert (11PM-ish), we were swept out of the Bowl in a sea of humanity to the main street Highland Ave. and walked back to the Magic Castle for another great post-concert party, again in BQ & JERIC's suite. Thank you both sooo much!!
-By this time jet lag, lack of sleep, the warm humid weather, good food, drinks, and hours of walking around Hollywood began to catch up with everyone.
I think the party lasted until 3AM or so.
-Some ppl flew out Sunday noon-ish; some left today (Monday) by plane or car.
Much more to follow ....

WOW! WOW! WOW!
I am green, with jealousy!!
What great photo's too!! How
did Jeric and BQ smuggle in
that bottle of Absolut?!
Love the amazon horn tribute
to Phire, BQ!!
Look at that group!! What a
fantastically handsome bunch!
That looked like such a great
get-together!!
I see the part of Lies' bottle
trick but where's the rest of it?!
Oh, how I wish I could have
been there!!

losing my internet made the loss of not going a bit easier perhaps - i had to be mad at Qwest rather than mourning at the inability of attending such an exquisite experience - I too, am green with envy - but it sounds like it was awesome _________________ 'It was irritating to me that I should need money. Pre-booking is available but since this just ended, I'm not taking a headcount until next year is released. It just ended but felt like it went by way too soon. I'm not ready to start planning for next year. It was a lot of hard work and waiting with anticipation but I'm glad everything went awesome! What a great time we had. I would like to thank everyone that came.... But most importantly for getting along. I'll post my pictures (the few I took... "forgot" my camera) soon as well as a review. |
