There is a bonus track on the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest ST called "He's a Pirate Tiesto Remix." It is a techno version of the song "He's a Pirate" from the first Pirates ST. I think it adds to the music of the ST and would love to see it added to the playlist. Also, Pirates AND techno... why shouldn't it be added? Very Happy

I'm hoping if enough of us want it added, Jeric will put it in the playlist.

Personally I enjoy the song because I enjoy techno at times and it is a pretty good fusion of techno and film score BUT I don't think it should be added to the SST playlist. I think that only the film score itself should be here.

As a side note, I think this remixed techno version would be a potential addition for the new entranced.fm station rather than SST. LOTRKing, you may want to bring this up at the new site once it is up and running on January 23rd, just an idea.

Interesting idea indeed. Helped me to decide how to vote Smile

Another no vote from me. Although I enjoy the track personally, it has three strikes against it in my book:

Not in the movie
Hard to recognize as a remix (for me, anyway. If I didn't know what it was supposed to be I probably couldn't have guessed).
Too long to include here when combined with the above.

I don't think I'd support any techno remixes. There are a few here and there on the station and a lot of the time I get confused by them.

I'd like to see the remix on SST. There are other tracks that are not precisely "classical" movie soundtracks and they're on here as well. It adds a bit of variety, and it's not as if you had to listen to it ten times a day.

Btw, I don't think the Tiesto Remix would fit in all that well on Entranced.FM. I'd say it's not "chill-out-y" enough... Laughing

alien_avatar,

I know there are tracks that are not necessarily 'classical' as you say, but I think this is a bit different than your normal film score. I think of techno and film scores as distinctly different, but this thread was created to get everyones opinion and this is just my opinion on the subject.

I only brought entranced up as a possibility. You are right that it may not fit well over there, but the reason I offered it as a possibility is because there is already some DJ Tiesto albums included in the playlist.

I was just browsing through the Requests Forum...

Probably old news, but yes the song is available on Entranced.FM

Oh my, this is what some people in another forum I occasionally go to would call a "Necro Post"! LaughingWink
