There has been many discussions in the past (some in the public forums) about splitting the stream, for various reasons, and they have always been rejected. Too complex to implement for the small benefit you would get from it. Thanks for the idea, though. If you need to hear unedited soundtracks, or ones that cannot appear here, you have many other means to do so.

Sweeney Todd - Epiphany
about 45 seconds in a rather clear s***.
It would be disapointing to loose the entire track but a difficult one to edit I would think. |

The Legend Trip - End Credits (The bad guy)
The singer says something about not "going to take this s*** from you." I heard it twice during the last minute or so of the song. It's subtle enough, but clear.

Thanks, Luther. I'll check it out.
I'd like to add for anyone reading this: If you hear a track with lyrics that are PA/NSFW, you can also let us know via the Make A Correction link on the album page. |

Indeed, if I may be so bold to say this: I strongly recommend it, a post here can be 'slipped' through the fingers. When you the make correction link, it will get more the attention of the admins
And the advantage is that the admin have all the information of the album directly _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Right! I should have known better, especially since it took some effort to hunt down this thread, but I'll remember next time.
Thanks Two and Sirius!

France... What a nice country, where any word can be said on the radio or on television with no censorship at all !
I will never understand these issues with some particular words in the US !
IMO, censoring or bipping those words only makes people paying more attention to them !
I love the USA anyway ! |

No ,I agree very much with the censoring
I am a big comic fan and I dont know how many comic shops I have gone into with offensive F this and F that going on loudly -never understood what it had to do with superheroes anyway. |

Well as you know we want this station family and work friendly. And I do not think you want to 'teach' your children (who are also here on SST, some are even member) all those nice words.
Of course for those who do not have English as their native language, swearing in English does not offend you as you probably do in your own language.
Personally I am not offended quickly, but I do understand and respect other members concerns. So we stick to the guidelines JERIC gives us. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

I must have said it a million times already, but here goes again...
"Protecting" children from bad language is a pretty pointless.
They'll "learn" them as soon as the enter school anyway. _________________ "Welcome to the paranoia club; cheapest fees in the universe and membership lasts forever."

A few points here: Yes, unfortunately my daughter will learn those words at some point. However, knowing the words is different from using the words. I don't want her to learn that casual use of crude words is acceptable. In our case she goes to a small private school, which in no way isolates her from things like that, but the staff (and other students) won't tolerate profane or crude language. It also bugs me that people often just use swear words as filler words. They add no value to the thought or idea being expressed, can be distracting, and could even imply that the user is either too lazy or unable to come up with a better word (better being defined as one that better communicates the thought or idea). There was once a time when people often gave thought to what they were saying rather than just let loose with a string of profanity to fill the space. Language can be beautiful. Why cheapen it, yourself, and your thoughts and ideas when often times a more acceptable word or phrase if not only more appropriate but better?
Hey, I can see my house from up here. (Steps off soap box.)

Cow pies! That general statement is what I call a Golden Age myth, and is no more or less true than it was 50, 100, or 1000 years ago. Some people have always used profanity. Some people have always been lazy about speech. Even Socrates must have complained about it. Or he was the one swearing; we'll never really know.
Sometimes I give plenty of thought to a string of profanity, thank you, and it DOES express what I'm thinking.
That said, I have no problem with eliminating certain words from this broadcast. They are distracting. A time and place for everything. Even strings of profanity. |
