Rolf Wilhelm's magnum opus comes on this 2-CD set. The music is a big orchestral and thematic firework in the golden age of hollywood tradition by the likes of miklos rozsa. However, germany isnt hollywood, so budget problems forced the composer to drop the string section on kriemhilds rache. Interesting what problems a composer has to deal with, but wilhelm mastered it easily.
The release of the score itself was at the time a project that was unheard of in germany. It was basically a two man show, done by a film music enthusiast and wilhelm himself. Production quality is comparable to FSM, yet no one was really interested in the product, which almost caused the producer to go bankrupt. Now here's finally a chance to make this great music a bit more popular. If you want it that way, of course  |
