Today in the chat, several of you may have seen a link for:
http://www.sst-i.org/
So far he's good and kosher, and has kept Jeric apprised of what he's doing. Feel free to give his software a try and tell us what you think. We're curious. |

I went there today to download the application, but when I entered my name and email, it gave a PHP error that the ADDMEMBER program wasnt on the server. Maybe he's working on his site, but I couldnt download it.

Here are some questions and suggestions for Jonathan.
1. Why is the install so big?
2. It should install a icon in the desktop.
3. It should give a choice for installation path. I do not install anything on C:, that is solely for my OS.
4. It crashed frequently for me. I sent a report as it requested.
That's all I have for now. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Here are my comments to Jeric's post:
<<1. Why is the install so big?>>
The install includes the Microsoft Jet Database Engine which is rather large. The final release version uses XML and will be in Java. The next release will use the Java WebStart, which is a one click process on the website to install and is much smaller (should be only a few meg).
<<2. It should install a icon in the desktop>>
JavaWebstart will give you the option to add an icon to the desktop.
<<3. It should give a choice for installation path. I do not install anything on C:, that is solely for my OS.>>
This will not be an issue with the next version
<<4. It crashed frequently for me. I sent a report as it requested. >>
The crash is somehow relating to the database engine, but the next version will sove this problem.
One final note is that I have not setup the email notification form on the website, but you can download the software still.
Thanks
