The Lost Boys - Gerard McMann
Samples:
Amazon Sample
With all due respect to Thomas Newman, the music that stays with the audience long after the movie is over is not the instrumental score but Gerard McMann's song titled "Cry Little Sister." The children's choir is haunting and used as the motif for mood setting and dramatic turns throughout the movie. The lyrics have long notes and also feature an organ and 80's style synthesizers as undertones and a bridge. It's a product of its era.
I encourage this song to be added to the playlist as it will serve as a true musical representation of its place in pop culture. _________________ "You have been chosen to represent Earth in Mortal Kombat. Yes please! I love this song and I think it should be added. I also love the newer version done by the band Aidan - very good! _________________ Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow. - James Dean |

Most know I'm not particularly a fan of adding pop songs, or vocal tracks in general. That said, this song, as JC suggests, is very closely associated with The Lost Boys. I suspect the film version is somewhat different that the LP version included on this album, which is a shame, because I think I prefer the film version. Still, I think this should definitely be added!
Great suggestion, JC!

If we're talking about the song I think we're talking about...
(checks sample. It is!)
... then I must say it makes me laugh just to think about it. I thought that song was the goofiest thing in the entire movie. Don't know how that affects its fitness for SST, though 1980s.fm seems like a good home for it. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

I have an opinion, and it's 'maybe leaning toward yes'. But that vote is not an option, so sadly I can't vote. _________________ WE are in the middle of a soaring film score. In short - mUSic. |
