haha figures Angel, but you're right it's no soundtrack. however there are so called st's on SST that ain't st's at all.
I still think that a major minus-point. |
yes, true Dutch, like these two, also John Barry
But still, glad they are here and altough not st's the music on The Beyondness of things could be filmmusic.
For instance #3: The Heartlands: could come right out of Dances With Wolves

It doesn't happen often that I buy non-st's.
But there's a radioprogram on fridaynight that plays all kind of unknown material which is presented by a famous sportscommentator who picks them up on his worldtravels.
A lot of gems can be heared here.
On that occasion I came along those two artists.
TUG OF WAR - CARLY RAE JEPSEN
A young canadian countrylike singer with a nice fragile voice.
AS I CALL YOU DOWN - FISTFUL OF MERCY
The debutalbum of a trio with George Harrison's son Dhani.
Lovely 'old' sounding genuine popmusic.

And my annual buy of a Christmas CD which is preferably a bit off the beaten track. (I don't like fortysomething versions of 'Silent Night' and others)
I came across this cd from the Puppini Sisters:
Three wellvoiced girls who approach some fine X-mas tunes with a style that refers to the Andrews Sisters, lots of swing songs. Very nice to listen to. _________________

Although the first CD of this 3 CD collection contains movie scores I place this album in this thread because the rest is non soundtrack.
It is from the Dutch composer Rogier van Otterloo who made scores of some Dutch movies like Turks Fruit and Soldaat van Oranje (Soldier Of Orange)

Needing the music for a question for the pubquiz made me buy this cd of Dutch violinist Janine Jansen. Her first recitalcd with music from french composers. (Ravel, Debussy, Dubugnon, Fauré)
It's a great relaxing and listening-with-a-good-glass-of-wine-cd.
Janine Jansen was the first classical artist who sold an album to goldstatus (over 10.000 ) in one day.
She´s a highly acclaimed violinplayer throughout the world. _________________

Wow! I 've got LOTR audiobook myself but it's far less than 45 discs!
BTW: My latest non-soundtrack CD is singles collection by Yello:

From the French composer Cyril Morin, whose albums are all contributed by members here on SST (BhelPuri - 4, Saffron - 1, Zireal - 1) this very nice entrancing-soundtrack like mixed album
