Score Recording Features Original Music by John Debney
(January 24, 2011- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the No Strings Attached -- Original Motion Picture Score available digitally on January 25th and in stores on February 22, 2011. John Debney (Predators, Iron Man 2, Evan Almighty) composed the original music.
Academy Award-nominated John Debney (The Passion of The Christ) is one of the most prolific and successful composers in Hollywood. His unique ability to create memorable music across a variety of genres, along with his reputation for being remarkably collaborative, have made him the first choice of top level producers and directors.
Debney has formed working collaborations with several noted filmmakers, including Robert Rodriguez on Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, Sin City, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D, Predators, and Machete; Garry Marshall on The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Raising Helen, Georgia Rule and Valentine’s Day; Tom Shadyac on Liar Liar, Dragonfly, Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty; and with director Jon Favreau on Elf, Zathura and the recent box office smash Iron Man 2. His work will soon be heard in Michael Brandt’s thriller The Double.
Debney’s wide range of film credits also includes: Hannah Montana: The Movie, The Stoning of Soraya M., Hotel for Dogs, Swing Vote, Idlewild, Chicken Little, Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story, The Pacifier, The Scorpion King, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, The Emperor’s New Groove, End of Days, Inspector Gadget, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Relic, Little Giants, Hocus Pocus, and additional music for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, and Rob Cohen's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Classically trained, Debney has conducted some of the world’s greatest orchestras performing his original works. Following the success of The Passion of the Christ, he premiered “The Passion Symphony” in Rome, featuring an 83-person choir and 96-piece orchestra. In 2011, "The Passion Oratorio" will be performed in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican, complete with 200 musicians and a 600-voice choir.
In recognition of his many musical accomplishments, Debney became the youngest recipient of ASCAP’s prestigious Henry Mancini Career Achievement Award in 2005.
In this comedy, Emma (Natalie Portman) and Adam (Ashton Kutcher) are life-long friends who almost ruin everything by having sex one morning. In order to protect their friendship, they make a pact to keep their relationship strictly ‘no strings attached.’ ‘No strings’ means no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, no baby voices. It means they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever public place they want, as long as they don’t fall in love. The question becomes – who’s going to fall first? And can their friendship survive?
Comedy kingpin Ivan Reitman returns to the director’s chair to helm the edgy, smart and sexy No Strings Attached, starring Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher, Cary Elwes, and Kevin Kline, in a story by Mike Samonek and Elizabeth Meriwether.
Paramount Pictures presents No Strings Attached in theaters on January 21, 2011. No Strings Attached – Original Motion Picture Score on Lakeshore Records will be released digitally on January 25th and in stores on February 22, 2011.
