1984(For The Love Of Big Brother) - Eurythmics
Buy at Amazon
Track List:
1) I did it just the same
2) Sexcrime(Nineteen Eigthy Four)
3) For the love of Big Brother
4) Winston's diary
5) Greetings from a dead man
6) Julia
7) Doubleplusgood
8 ) Ministry of Love
9) Room 101
Electronic, Pop
1984
United Kingdom
Michael Redford did not use the music Eurithmics made. Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Records, wanted a pop-act to contribute to the soundtrack. Michael Redford, director, thougt otherwise, shame.
Eurythmics did what they were asked to do. When you listen to the music, you "see" the film. That's what a soudtrack should do
The way Annie Lennox sings "Julia" is breathtaking good.
Vote YES .............please

I know you are new Iwan, but SST has a sister site, 1980s FM and I think this would be better suited there as it is all singing music and usually Jeric doesnt put that up on SST. Check out: Eurythmics Though the CD you requested isnt there they have other albums by them. Although I have not checked the samples yet the product description say "Largely instrumental original sound track / score to the 1984 movie"
So maybe the instrumentals can be added here and the songs we do not have on 1980s.fm yet like 'Julia' can be added there.
I will listen to the samples later. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

Thanks, Jade(?), for your suggestion. However there are many 1980s sites and one(good) soundtrack site . So, thanks but no thanks, for now im sticking with SST.
Indeed, I am new and very happy I found SST. My request is therefore a kind of test. How does it work and how is the reaction. So forgive me my inexperience and mistakes. My intentions are good
Please explain why only the instrumentals could be added? It's not that 'Julia' would be the first singing music song that was added on the list.
For example: -Singing in the rain, -from My Fair Lady the song we just listend to; I've grown accustomed to her face(was moren talking than singing btw) and another example; -The Rocky Horror Picture Show, almost no instrumentals..............I think I made my point.
Again I mean no disrespect, I'm just trying to understand and accept any final decision. _________________ Hunt or be hunted, be the butcher or the cattle..... |

There are no samples on that Amazon page, but if your description is accurate, I don't think it'll be added here.
I'll vote yes if it can be considered part of a movie (the score, along with eventual bonus-tracks). There are a lot of vocal tracks on Streaming Soundtracks, but all of them are featured either in the movie (for musicals and Disneys and such) or in the credits roll.
That doesn't mean it's bad though, taste has nothing to do with it, but I don't think it fits in. We'll see what the votes tell us. _________________ Music is not just made of sounds. It is also made of silence. |

I was just adding a suggestion, adding vocal tracks here is not consistent, there is no rule as to what gets added. But I guess we will see if this gets added too. _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties.
